Reading Genesis 1

This Sunday we are beginning our series on Genesis 1-4.  We begin, of course, with the creation account in Genesis chapter 1.  In the 19th and 20th centuries, this text has been obscured under debates about how it relates to scientific claims surrounding evolution and the age of the earth.  The result of this is that the deep theological riches of this passage have been ignored and trampled upon.  As a supplement, I’m attaching a few articles that have helped me think through how to deal with Genesis 1 and how to read the bible in general.  Enjoy!
