Jesus reveals the Father

Posted: July 19, 2012 by doulos tou Theou in Christianity, Discipleship

“Jesus revealed the Father to his followers and made him accessible to them, but the effect of this was not to bring him down to earth in a way that might compromise his glory or diminish his power, but rather to take us up to heaven. God remained fully transcendent in his divinity, and he demonstrated that by triumphing over those who thought they could solve the problem of Jesus by getting rid of him.  … The power of the Father was never more visible than on that first Easter morning when the Son returned from the dead, and yet he remained as invisible as ever, working in the hearts and minds of the disciples of Jesus and bringing them to faith without ever stepping down from the throne of his sovereignty over all creation.”
