His Image

“I have put my soul, as a blank, into the hands of Jesus Christ my Redeemer, and desired him to write upon it what he pleases. I know it will be his own image.”

George Whitefield, quoted in Christian History, Issue 38, page 28.

What a good day to receive George Whitfield’s message! Tomorrow starts a new year – may we, who wake up tomorrow morning, be gloriously satisfied to be blank, new, “yous”. My prayer will be – “Thank you my heavenly Father that You will do with me what You please for Your Kingdom. May this be a year that I will be totally dependent upon You – from morning till night – each and every day.”
For those of you who know me, I will fall from that desire, but by the grace of God, He will lift me up again and again. Oh how I thank my Father for sending me a Redeemer, whom I have grown to love and whom I trust will do what He says He’ll do!
